The new Allianz Arena arrival was forced off the pitch in Bayern’s 3-0 defeat.
James Rodriguez left the game against Liverpool in the Audi Cup semi-finals. The player was taken out in the second half of the 3-0 loss to the Reds, after feeling discomfort in his leg and heading straight to the dressing room.
The Colombia international was Bayern’s third player to leave the pitch due to an injury. Thiago was first to leave the game with abdominal pain, while David Alaba left the game in the final minutes of the second half with discomfort in his leg.
According to Goal, following Bayern’s defeat Ancelotti said:
“Thiago and Alaba both took hits, it’s no big problem.”
When asked about the situation of Rodriguez, the Italian added:”We’ll investigate it [on Wednesday].”
The injuries the Bavarians picked were certainly not welcome as Liverpool dominated the game, and thanks to Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Daniel Sturridge took the win home to send Liverpool to the final against Atletico Madrid.
Meanwhile Bayern will play against Napoli in the third-place play-off, but Arjen Robben and Jerome Boateng, who missed Liverpool’s game, will not feature on Wednesday as well.
“They will not play [on Wednesday]. We don’t want to take any risks. They’re not yet ready,”
