MATCH PREVIEW – Bulgaria vs Netherlands

Bulgaria host The Netherlands in vital clash between the two sides

Written by Bertel Østergaard. March 25, 2017

Bulgaria put some pressure on both Sweden and The Netherlands, when they earned a narrow 1-0 win over Belarus in the previous round. This means, that if Bulgaria manage a win against Netherlands, Bulgaria will climb a top of Netherlands in the standing.

Bulgaria don’t have the star players they used to have back in Hristo Stoickhov’s time. They haven’t been part of a major tournament in more than a decade, and they are most likely not going to make it to Russia 2018 either with competition from France, Sweden and Netherlands.

Netherlands had an embarrassing campaign ahead of the EURO 2016 in France. They didn’t make it back then, which is why making it to Russia 2018 is a must for Dirk Blind who is the boss for Netherlands.

The head to head record is level between the two side with two wins, losses and draws for each of the sides.

Netherlands needs the tree point to put pressure on France in Group A, but it won’t be easy.

The clash between the two sides will take place this evening with kick off at 20:45 CET at the Stadium Vasil Levski in Sofia.
