German boss Joachim Low has urged Germany to maintain their perfect record in this World Cup qualifying, by winning against Azerbaijan this evening in Baku.
Die Mannschaft have won their opening four matches, without conceding a single goal, and scoring 16. The German team sits five points clear at the top of Group C.
The German team has not conceded a single goal since their 2-0 semi-final defeat to France at Euro 2016.
A win against Azerbaijan would take the German team a step closer to the World Cup 2018 in Russia. German boss Joachim Low said at a pre-match press conference: ”We want to secure qualification for the World Cup without dropping any points.”
Low confirmed Mario Gomez is going to start the match up front whilst Sami Khedira will captain Die Mannschaft in the absence of Manuel Neuer.
Azerbaijan’s results have improved under coach Robert Prosinecki, who was appointed back in 2014. His side is currently third in Group C with seven point. They started this campaign with two wins against San Marino and Norway following a draw against Czech Republic and a 4-0 defeat against Northern Ireland.
The clash between the two sides will take places this evening with kick off at 18:00 CET at the Tofiq Bahramov Stadium in Baku.
