Netherlands risk to miss out of the World Cup 2018 in Russia due to the away defeat against Bulgaria on Saturday evening.
The Dutch side will need to boost up the confidence in this friendly against Italy, who have been enjoying a decent qualifying campaign in group G.
Italy won their previously game 2-0 against Albania in Palermo and are top in group G alongside Spain.
Danny blind is no longer the coach of the Netherlands after the poor defeat against Bulgaria. Netherlands assistant manager Fred Grim will take charge of the Dutch national team in the friendly against Italy this evening. The Netherlands need a good result against in-form Italy.
Italy have been solid in their defense in the last couple of matches. They have kept three consecutive clean sheets including a friendly against Germany last year.
The clash between the two sides will take places this evening with kick off at 20:45 CET at the Amsterdam ArenA in Amsterdam.
