Former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy has shared his opinion on Liverpool’s latest signing Mohamed Salah.
The Egyptian marked his first Liverpool game with an equalizer in Friday’s friendly against Wigan. The midfielder had previous appearances in the Premier League as he was part of Chelsea football club at an earlier stage of his career. However, he never managed to establish himself in the first team of the Blues.
Danny Murphy thinks that his previous unsuccessful spell at the Premier League will not be a factor at all.
Murphy said: “I would imagine he’ll play wide or one of the more forward positions than midfield, but he’s quick, goes past people and can score a goal.
“I don’t think we can say he failed at Chelsea because he didn’t play enough to say he failed.”
“I think what it does do is adds competition for places with Champions League coming up, because people say ‘well where’s going to play?’ or ‘Who is going to play instead of?'” he added.
“There are that many games coming up, Liverpool lost Mane’s pace for a month and suffered because of it.
Salah scored 19 goals for Roma last season and Anfield legend Danny Murphy thinks he can bring the missing spark in front of the KOP.
