Barcelona’s hopes for Ander Herrera have been put to an end.
The Red Devils are reportedly going to offer Ander Herrera a long-term contract at the club with a tempting new offer. The focus of Jose Mourinho is to strengthen his squad and the young Spaniard has been one of United’s best last season.
According to the Daily Star, Herrera will be offered a new 4-year-contract with a weekly wage of £200,000 plus bonuses. Put in perspective, the 27-year-old midfielder could earn around £41m over the course of his potential deal with United. Ander Herrera could even become United’s next captain, taking into consideration that Michael Carrick will not be a regular starter due to age and physical endurance.
Even though Barcelona’s coach Ernesto Valverde was linked with Herrera as they worked together at Athletic Bilbao, it all looks to be over as Herrera will commit his future to Manchester, ruling out any chance of leaving.
