Rodriguez makes victorious Bayern Munich debut

Bayern retained the trophy after a comfortable 2-0 win against Werder Bremen.

James Rodriguez made his first appearance for Bayern Munich as Ancelotti’s side won the 2017 Telekom Cup following a win over Werder Bremen. The Colombian joined the German side earlier this month on a two-year loan deal from Real Madrid as he struggled to find a starting spot in Zidane’s squad. He appeared as a substitute in the semi-final against Hoffenheim, as Bayern won 1-0.

In the final, Rodriguez started and had an impressive game as Thomas Müller and Juan Bernat scored goals securing the trophy for Bayern. Thomas Müller was given the captain’s armband following the retirement of Bayern’s former captain Philipp Lahm.
