There might be hope for Riyad Mahrez after all.
The Algerian playmaker has been one of the most speculated names in football for the past few weeks. Roma are more than interested in his services as they have set him as their top priority this summer. However, Leicester City are firm on their stance when it comes to the worth of the player. The Foxes have already rejected three bids from Roma since none of them actually matched their demands.
Following those rejections, even Mahrez himself urged the club from King Power Stadium to accept an offer and let him speak to Roma, but without much success.
According to DailyMail, Roma’s sporting director Monchi said the following regarding Mahrez:
“I’m optimistic in life, by nature. Roma are doing everything possible to get the player.
“I am happy with the effort the club is making to take him. It is close to the limit. I do not think the club has often bid over €30m.
“If my memory does not deceive me, the latest offer would be the club’s most expensive purchase in our history.
“We are, therefore, engaged and expect an answer. But it is true that we are working on other solutions.”
