The former Arsenal striker believes Chelsea made a good decision to add the Spaniard to their ranks.
Alvaro Morata joined Antonio Conte’s men this summer following a £58m move from Real Madrid. The Blues were initially linked with a move for Romelu Lukaku, but the Belgium international joined Premier League rivals Manchester United in a staggering transfer worth £75m.
Morata is now tasked with the duty of replacing Diego Costa, who had a good last season, despite his controversial personality and actions.
Arsenal legend Thiery Henry believes the Spaniard will be a good addition at Stamford Bridge even though he did not impress during his debut at Wembley.
“He is the type of striker that Antonio Conte likes,” Henry said to Sky Sports.
“He’s generous in the way he plays, he knows what he needs to do at all times.
“He asks for the ball in behind, he holds the ball up and he can score goals too.”
Morata netted 15 goals in 26 appearances in La Liga last season for Real Madrid as he made a return from Serie A side Juventus.
