A clean start for Pep Guardiola.
Manchester City won 0-2 against Premier League newcomers Brighton & Hove Albion. The Citizens controlled the whole game, while Brighton showed they can defend really well against a top team. However, their effort was not enough to stop Guardiola’s men.
Manchester City had complete dominance during the first half as they possessed the ball for 77 % of the time. Yet, they did not materialize on their effort as Brighton’s squad was organized and strictly packed in defense.
In the 70th minute the Citizens finally took the lead. Silva found Aguero in a good position and the the Argentine made no mistake, being left one versus one with the goalkeeper. Just 5 minutes after, Manchester City doubled their lead as Lewis Dunk scored an own goal following a ball from Fernandinho.
In the end Manchester City took home the three points after a well-deserved win.
