Ousmane Dembélé officially became a Catalan following a €105m move from Borussia Dortmund.
The 20-year-old was more than happy to join Barcelona and insisted they are the best club in the world with the best players in the world.
The Frenchman was a subject of heavy speculation during the summer, with Borussia remaining adamant he is not for sale. However, the Bundesliga side could not fend off the Spanish giants who got what they wanted in the end. Dembélé did everything he can to force the move through, even intentionally not showing at a training session, which got him into a lot of trouble with Dortmund as he was fined and suspended from the first squad. However, the 20-year-old is likely not bothered by what happened back in Germany anymore, given he is already a part of the club he wanted to join.
“I am very happy to be here,” Dembélé told Barcelona’s official club website.
“It has always been my dream to be at Barcelona. And now I’m here I’m very happy to have achieved my dream.
“This is the best club in the world with the best players in the world.
“My aim is to do everything for the club, everything for the team, and to have an understanding with my teammates.”
