Harry Kane scored his 100th goal for Tottenham, helping his team to a 3-0 victory away at Everton.
Everton: Pickford – Martina, Keane, Williams, Baines – Gueye, Klaassen, Sigurdsson, Schnerderlin – Ramirez, Rooney;
Tottenham: Lloris – Trippier, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Davies – Sanchez, Sissoko, Dier – Eriksen, Alli – Kane.
Everton started the game very well and Sandro Ramirez came close to open the score in the 6th minute, but his shot went just wide of the post. From there on, Tottenham started to control the game.
After missed chances from Eriksen and Moussa Sissoko, Spurs opened the score in the 28th minute. Kane received a ball on the right wing, looked briefly in the box and fired a ball that looked to be a cross. The ball followed an unexpected trajectory and ended up in the back of the net, leaving Pickford with no chance. It was the 100th goal scored by Harry Kane for Tottenham.
Everton never recovered and in the 42nd minute Eriksen scored for 2-0. Ben Davies took a low shot that was parried away by Pickford, but only to the feet of Eriksen who cooly sent the ball in the back of the net.
Harry Kane made the double in the 46th minute, only seconds after the second half kick-off whistle. A cross from the same Ben Davies found the English striker alone in the box, from where he took a first time shot past Pickford to put Spurs 3-0 ahead.
Tottenham continued to control the game until the end, as Everton looked powerless and never really seemed capable of threatening Hugo Lloris’ goal.
Harry Kane was named Man of the Match by Sky Sports. Even though he will never receive full credit for his first goal, which looked more like a cross than a shot, the England international had a great game and his second goal took exquisite finishing skills.
