Barcelona tried until the last moments of the transfer windows to secure the signature of Angel Di Maria from PSG.
The Catalans offered €45m plus another €5m in bonuses, but the Parisians held on to the price of €60m, according to Marca. An agreement was not reach and therefore the move broke down.
PSG bought Angel Di Maria in 2015 from Manchester United, for €50m. The Argentinian would have wanted to move to Barcelona in order to play with his co-national, Leo Messi, but the move failed to materialise because the Catalans were not willing to raise their offer by another €10m.
The relationship between Barcelona and PSG is not the best after the Parisians have paid the €222m release clause of Neymar Jr. in what is the biggest transfer in football history.
