Massimiliano Allegri has big problems ahead of the Champions League debut tonight, on Camp Nou, against Barcelona.
Juventus have a long list of injuries and unavailable players. The Italian champions will not be able to count on five of the players that played in the Champions League final of last season. In that match, Real Madrid successfully defended their title by winning 4-1 in Cardiff.
Giorgio Chiellini and Claudio Marchisio will miss through injury. Juan Cuadrado is suspended and won’t be able to play on Camp Nou, because of the red card he received in last season’s final against Real Madrid.
Sami Khedira and Benedikt Howedes have been left out of the squad travelling to Spain. Khedira is injured, while Howedes did not play any match for Juventus this season yet.
Mario Mandzukic is another important player that will miss the debut in the new Champions League season. The Croatian suffers from a calf injury.
On the other hand, newcomers Szczesny, De Sciglio, Matuidi, Bentancur, Douglas Costa and Bernardeschi have all traveled with the squad and represent options for Allegri to chose from.
