Marcus Rashford continues to mark his debuts with goals, as the English striker scored during his first Champions League appearance.
Manchester United won the first match of their Champions League campaign, 3-0 against Basel. The last goal of the match was scored by Marcus Rashford. The young striker continues to impress with his performances. At only 19, Rashford scored on his every debut in seven different competitions. He scored in the first games played for England U21 and England senior team as well as in his first matches for Manchester United in Europa League, Premier League, FA Cup and EFL Cup.
And now, Rashford has added Champions League to his long list of competitions in which he scored on his debut. The 19-year-old only needed seven minutes to mark his presence on Old Trafford against Basel on Tuesday night. He entered the pitch in the 77th minute, replacing Mata, and scored in the 84th minute, to set the final score of the match, 3-0.
In Europa League, Rashford scored two goals during his first match in the competition, against FC Midtjylland, in 2015. Just a few days later, during his Premier League debut, he scored twice for Manchester United in their 3-2 victory over Arsenal. Last year he scored at his first match in the EFL Cup, against Northampton Town. His good performances earned him a call-up to England U21, where he scored during his first match against Australia. Rashford’s progress continued and the striker was called up to the senior national team of England, where he managed to bag his first goal during his debut against Slovakia in the World Cup Qualifiers.
