Less than a month after the transfer window closed, the Parisians are already planning for their next acquisitions.
Having spent €222m for the transfer of Neymar and committed another €180m for Kylian Mbappe, PSG does not show any signs of slowing down their transfer business. Even though UEFA announced that they are investigating the club in relation with a potential breach of FFP term, the Parisians are already working on their next targets.
According to L’Equipe, Unai Emery has asked his management for a “veritable number 6”. The Spanish manager feels that such a player is vital for the team’s success, especially if they are planning to challenge with real chances for the Champions League trophy.
According to the French outlet, Emery is looking for a replacement for Thiago Motta and the club tried to bring someone in during the summer. Their targets were Fabinho and Danilo Pereira, but both AS Monaco and FC Porto’s demands were considered too big by PSG.
The Parisians will probably face the same problem in the winter as well. Having showed that they are willing to spend so much money on players, it is now expected that every club will inflate the prices of their players if PSG were to come knocking.
Emery could try to use Rabiot on that position. The French midfielder has played there in the past. However, according to L’Equipe, the 22-year-old made it clear that he has no intention to play on that position again.
