After having built one of the strongest attacks in the world, PSG are now looking to reinforce their defence.
The Parisians have a clear aim of winning the Champions League and are willing to spend whatever it takes to achieve it. Having already paid €222m for the transfer of Neymar from Barcelona and committed another €180m for Kylian Mbappe’s permanent move from Monaco, PSG are now ready to pay €100m for David De Gea, according to Le10Sport.
Unai Emery is not happy with the goalkeepers that he currently has at his disposal. Neither Kevin Trapp, nor Alphonse Areola have impressed and Emery knows that in order to win the Champions League trophy, his team would need a very strong defence.
David De Gea is not the only goalkeeper monitored by the Parisians. According to the same source, PSG have prepared the €100m transfer fee and will go for both David De Gea and Jan Oblak, hoping to secure the services of at least one of them.
A move for De Gea would once again show that PSG is ready to challenge every big club in the world. After having paid Neymar’s release clause with Barcelona and signed Mbappe from under Real Madrid’s nose, the Parisians are now ready to once again enter a transfer war with the Spanish champions.
De Gea has been a long-term target of Florentino Perez, who tried to sign him two years ago. The move failed in 2015, because the documentation arrived at the Spanish federation only minutes after the transfer deadline. However, Real Madrid have not given up at the idea of bringing De Gea to Santiago Bernabeu and are said to be preparing a new offer.
The Spanish goalkeeper is said to be keen to join Real Madrid. If PSG won’t be able to persuade De Gea to move to Paris, then they will most probably focus on their second option – Jan Oblak. The Slovenian goalkeeper has a €100m release clause in his contract with Atletico Madrid and would be more approachable.
