The 26-year-old will be back in action against Freiburg on Saturday.
Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara can be ready for the Bavarians as early as Saturday when the Bundesliga champions will be facing Freiburg. There were fears that the Spain international will be out for a long period of time due to an ankle injury, but fortunately that is not the case.
The 26-year-old missed out Spain’s final World Cup qualifier on Monday, but the latest medical tests have shown that the injury is simply a strain to his ankle ligaments, which will take him out only for a short period of time.
“Thiago has strained an interior ligament in his ankle and must only take a short break from training,” the club said in a statement.
“The 26-year-old will in all probability be back for the home game against Freiburg.”
The Bavarians are currently sitting at second place on the table, five points adrift of league leaders Borussia Dortmund.
