Preview: Monaco – Guingamp

Second-placed Monaco will be looking to reduce the four points difference to Ligue 1 leaders PSG today, as they host 12th-placed Guingamp.

Flashscore presents the key facts before the match:

Former Chelsea flop Radamel Falcao has got himself back on track and is now Monaco’s leading scorer with a total of 13 goals. No other Monaco player has scored over 2 goals this season so it’s clear who the main goal-threat will be for the Guingamp defence.

However, Falcao has missed the last 2 games through injury and might not be considered fit enough to feature from the start. (Line-ups will be available approx. 1 hour before kick-off)

Monaco have made their home into a fortress this season, winning 14 out of 15 games. The guests on the other hand have struggled badly on away grounds, and have lost 8 out of 9 games.

What could work in the Guingamp’s favour however, is the fact that Monaco had to travel 4000km to play Besiktas in the Europa League on Wednesday. The hosts have barely had 2 days of rest before this game.

Guingamp manager Kombourare Antoione expressed his worries about his team’s technical abilities after the last match (a 1-1 draw against Amiens). It remains to be seen if his team can sharpen their game and rise to the challenge against a second placed Monaco side.
