Real Madrid set Bale fee at £85 million, as Manchester United are interested in the Welsh winger
According to Daily Mirror, Real Madrid have put an £85 million price tag on Gareth Bale, as the attacker has had continuous injuries. Although the former Spurs player has a contract till 2022, Real might sell the player next summer.
Manchester United is reportedly monitoring the Welsh, to whom the Premier League wouldn’t feel new.
Due to his struggles with multiple injuries during his Real Madrid career, the board of Los Blancos has apparently decided to sell Bale.
The Spanish giants want to cash in on the winger as they are afraid that his value will start decreasing.
Despite his inability to stay healthy, Manchester United are into signing the winger, as the Red Devils have expressed their interest in him along with Bale’s former club Tottenham Hotspur and London giants Chelsea.
Gareth Bale has joined Real Madrid four years ago, back in 2013 after 6 successful seasons with Tottenham, where he managed to score 42 goals in 146 games.
During his time in Madrid, the winger has been more productive when he was available to play. Bale has scored 56 goals in just 105 games for Los Blancos, helping them to countless wins.
If he managed to stay healthy and continue his great performances, Zinedine Zidane might have counted on him for a longer period.
It’s likely a deal will be thrashed out next summer, when it might be possible to negotiate a lower fee depending on how much Bale is involved between now and the end of the campaign, according to ESPN.
Zidane would need Bale to ignite the front trio of Real Madrid, as the other two players of Madrid’s BBC have been struggling, resulting in Los Blancos building up an 8-point deficit to their biggest rivals FC Barcelona. Although the season is still long, such a deficit can prove too hard to come back from.
