Former Real Madrid player and AC Milan icon Kaka compared his departure from the Bernabeu to how James Rodriguez left Los Blancos
Kaka is ready to hang up his boots after playing his last season of professional football with Orlando City.
The Brazilian hasn’t decided yet on his future plans, however he said he wants to follow Zinedine Zidane’s path and become a manager.
In the meantime, he spoke about his career, and about James Rodriguez’s departure from Real Madrid when he was taking care of promotional duties in Russia.
When he was asked about his Ballon d’Or win, the Brazilian said it was an unbelievable experience.
“It’s incredible to win an individual award in a team sport and also one where everybody wants to be able to say: ‘I’m the best.’.”
Kaka was also asked about the next Ballon d’Or winner, and said Neymar will win the award at some point.
“Football isn’t an exact science so it’s difficult to say what will happen in the future, but I would say that the next winner of the Ballon d’Or after Cristiano and Messi will be Neymar.”
When he was asked about his career at Real Madrid, the Brazilian spoke about both the good and bad times.
“At Real Madrid everything gets taken to extremes, as much for the good things as the bad things, so you have to adapt to the way that the press and the fans live through different situations.”
“For a player it’s an amazing experience to be at Real Madrid. I matured a lot there, principally as a person,” he added.
The Brazilian compared his situation to what happened to James Rodriguez, saying things don’t always play out for everyone.
“What happened to James and to me can happen to any player and not just at Real Madrid. As a player you make changes that you think are going to work out in one way and for a number of reasons it doesn’t pan out as you hoped it would,” Kaka explained.
