Andersson denies that Ibra will come back

It was a remarkable evening for Sweden as they managed to eliminate Italy in the World Cup playoffs and they went through after winning 1-0 on aggregate – but it’s not likely that Zlatan Ibrahimović will make a huge comeback.

Zlatan Ibrahimović announced the end of his national career following the unsuccessful EURO 2016 and there is almost no possibility of him coming back to help his side on the upcoming World Cup. Sweden coach, Janne Andersson, can’t believe that everybody still speaks about Ibrahimović despite the fact that the team gained this success even without him.

The coach of this national team spoke about possible Ibrahimović’s return as he said, according to ESPN“This is incredible! This player [Ibrahimovic] has just stopped to play with Sweden one year and a half ago and we are still here talking about him. Gosh, we need to talk about the great players we have in this team I believe.”

He praised his side a lot as he said that they can be all called heroes: “We have many heroes tonight. I am a bit moved but obviously very happy with the result. When Ibrahimovic was here with us we played a different style of football. But considering that he has decided to leave international football, he is a great champion but we had to adapt and found another style.”

His star player, Victor Lindelöf, also spoke about this huge success: “It is the first time I have qualified for a World Cup and I am so, so happy. We knew coming here would be difficult but following the first game at home, we believed we could do it. We work very, very hard. I don’t know how to describe this team, we work so hard for each other. We know what we can do. We always believed we would go to a World Cup and here we are.”
