Former West Ham forward Dean Ashton claims Liverpool did good when they signed Mohamed Salah, saying the Egyptian is “the best signing of the summer”
This season has been amazing for the 25-year-old winger so far, as Salah’s performances indicate he is happy and confident at Anfield. His performances didn’t skip the eyes of the ex-England international Dean Ashton. Ashton believes Salah is the best buy this season.
Many doubted what the Egypt international is capable of doing, when the Reds paid a record amount of money for the striker. But the winger has proved them wrong.
Salah moved to Liverpool from Roma and has already scored 12 goals in only 17 games in all competitions this year.
However, this is not Salah’s first Premier League season, as the Egyptian has previously played for Chelsea.
Despite his struggles as a Chelsea player, Ashton is convinced that the 25-year-old winger has developed into a star during recent years.
“Mohamed Salah is the best signing of the summer,” the former West Ham man told the Premier League’s official website.
“He looks a totally different player from his time at Chelsea,” he continued.
“I’ve been surprised by how quick, how direct he is, and he’s a better finisher than I thought.”
”He’s really added to that Liverpool side,” Ashton praised the attacker.
Mohamed Salah will continue to strive for goals as Liverpool move forward in the Premier League, seeking for a Champions League spot next year.
Jurgen Klopp’s men will host Southampton next in the English top-flight after the international break, on November 18. That game will be a good chance for Liverpool to increase their lead ahead of Arsenal, as the Gunners will have a tough fixture against Tottenham on Saturday.
If the Reds are about to finish high this season, they have to take their winter schedule seriously, as they are currently fifth-placed with a 12-point deficit to league leaders Manchester City.
