Tottenham stunned Dortmund, while Liverpool failed to secure their 3-0 lead

There were few crazy matches played in tonight’s Champions League as Liverpool failed to win at Sevilla despite leading 3-0 at the half-time and Tottenham secured the top spot in the “group of death” leaving Real Madrid and Dortmund behind.

Liverpool were playing at Sevilla and it was an important match for both sides as the situation in the group remains unclear. Roberto Firmino scored a brace in the first half and Sadio Mané added the third goal so the match looked to be over – but Sevilla managed to make a huge come back as Ben Yedder scored twice and Guido Pizarro equalized in the dying minutes. The second match in this group was played a bit earlier as Spartak Moscow gained a 1-1 draw with Maribor – the Russian club scored the first goal of the match in the 82nd minuted but Jasmin Mesanovic levelled the scored in the last minuted and set up the final result.

The group of death is already decided – Tottenham came from behind at Dortmund as they were 1-0 down at the halftime. Harry Kane scored another goal and Son netted the winner to gain his side the top spot in the group. Meanwhile, Real Madrid destroyed APOEL Nicosia 6-0 as both Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema scored twice and the Spanish giant is through as well.

Manchester City have won every single match in this year’s Champions League so far as Raheem Sterling broke the deadlock two minutes before the time run out and secured his team the top spot. Napoli are still alive as they beat Shakhtar Donetsk 3-0 at home and they remain 3 points behind the Ukrainian side.

In the last group which was played today, Besiktas also secured their spot in the knockout stage as they gained a 1-1 draw with Porto as Talisca equalized for the Turkish side before the halftime. Monaco continues to struggle as they were beaten at home by RB Leipzig and after a 4-1 loss they are out of the run.
