Mourinho urges Shaw to remain patient

Luke Shaw was given a chance to show up in the latest Champions League fixture as Manchester United faced CSKA Moscow at home and José Mourinho was delighted with his performance.

The England international has been promised more chances to play after he made a huge impact in his side’s last match – after coming back from injury, Mourinho had insisted that he “has to work hard” to get back and Shaw did exactly that thing and was named the man of the match. It’s for sure that he will be given more chances after a performance like that.

José Mourinho spoke about Shaw’s performance as he said that it was really good and he is impressed by that, according to Sky Sports“Very, very positive performance, especially with the ball going forward. Really dangerous, creating a lot, great intensity in his game. No surprise that in minute 80 he is feeling the consequences of that intensity (by suffering cramp).”

He added that he will give him more opportunities to shine as he did really well and he showed that he deserves a chance to fight back: “It is normal, the first match of the season for him, but he was deserving of that opportunity for quite a long time. And he’s going to get more because the performance was really positive.”

The former coach of Chelsea or Real Madrid also mentioned how happy he is with the result and the fact that his side ended the group stage in a winning way: “I’m really happy because we don’t want to qualify with a defeat.  We don’t want to qualify with a bad performance so the objective was to qualify playing well and to get at least a positive result. I think we did that very, very well. The performance was good, the attitude was good.”
