Sadio Mane expressed his gratitude towards his team-mates, saying he is really happy to have the ability to play alongside Philippe Coutinho, Roberto Firmino, and Mohamed Salah
The Senegal international claims he is enjoying his time at Anfield thanks to his partnership with the attacking trio of Liverpool, following their passage to the knockout phase of the Champions League, GOAL understands.
Jurgen Klopp’s men destroyed Spartak Moscow on Wednesday, in a game that ended 7-0 and resulted in the Anfield side advancing to the next round of the Champions League.
The lethal four of the Reds have all contributed to their success, with one goal from Salah and Firmino each, a double from Sadio Mane and a hat-trick from Coutinho. The 25-year-old managed to score 7 times in just 15 games across all competitions, and he praised his team-mates after their victory.
“I’m very happy to play alongside all these great players. I’m enjoying playing [with] them, they make it easier for me, so I’m happy for that,” Mane told Liverpool’s official website.
“Everybody has spoken about [us], but the whole performance of the team was always great. Without them, we are nothing, so it’s everybody. The whole performance of the team was great tonight.”
“We played fantastic football and we deserved to win because we created many chances and scored without conceding,” the Senegal international explained.
The Anfield side will host Everton in Sunday’s Premier League showdown, and Mane says they will have a tough time beating their local rivals, as they are chasing league leaders Manchester City.
“It’s also a tough game and an important game for us. We play at home and the fans deserve a win, so we’ll do our best to get it,” Mane concluded as the Reds go up against their local rivals being fourth-placed in the Premier League with 29 points after 15 games.
