Inter captain Mauro Icardi has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid over the last few months, and his wife now spoke about the topic
The Argentine superstar’s wife claims her partner wants to stay at the San Siro, but has ruled out a possible move to Madrid, as reports of interest from Santiago Bernabeu have been intensifying.
As GOAL reports, even though Icardi wants to stay, his future at the club is beyond his control, according to the captain’s partner and representative Wanda Nara.
The 24-year-old’s name has been included in reports connected to transfer rumours of many big European clubs, but the one club that’s name keeps coming up is Real Madrid. If the striker agrees to join Los Blancos, it will be a big-money move, as the La Liga giants are seeking help in their front-line, and we all know if they really feel like they need a player, the Spanish side are ready to splash the cash.
The main reason behind these speculations is the incredible form Icardi has produced so far. He has scored 16 goals in 16 Serie A games, to fire Inter to the top of table, ahead of Napoli and reigning champions Juventus.
Some tension between the Argentina international and the club’s supporters remains after he criticised the behaviour of the ultras in his autobiography last year, GOAL continues.
His wife, though, has indicated Icardi wants to remain at San Siro: “The heart of Mauro and our children is Nerazzurro. We hope to always be here, it depends on the club,” Nara explained on television program Verissimo.
When she was asked on the Madrid rumours, Icardi’s wife said: “I do not know anything, I do not say yes, or no. Mauro would stay at Inter all his life, but it depends on other things.”
