Jose Mourinho is determined to be reunited with his former player, Eden Hazard, and has asked his Manchester United executives to bring the Belgian to Old Trafford.
Chelsea’s star player has already refused a £300k/week offer to renew his contract with The Blues, as he is evaluating his options. According to The Sun, Manchester United want to take advantage of the player’s situation and they are confident that they can beat competition from Real Madrid and PSG for the Belgian’s signature. For this reason, The Red Devils are preparing a £90m bid, which would be a British transfer record.
The 26-year-old has been offered an improved four year deal at Stamford Bridge earlier this year, but he has declined the offer, fueling speculations about his future. With Zinedine Zidane having expressed his admiration for Hazard and PSG throwing money right and left in the transfer market, it looks like the Belgian is preparing for a departure from Chelsea.
And now Jose Mourinho has entered the picture, instructing his executives to bring him his former player, which he sees as the missing piece of his United squad.
Eden Hazard joined Chelsea in 2012, when the Blues paid £32m to Lille for his services and was part of Mourinho’s winning campaign with the Blues in the 2014/2015 Premier League season. His current contract with Chelsea runs until 2020.
Manchester United are the current holders of the British transfer record, with the transfer of Paul Pogba from Juventus, for £89m, in 2016. Last summer, Mourinho’s side also paid £75m for Romelu Lukaku from Everton.
