The Parisians reached the last four of the competition after a 2-0 win over Amiens.
Paris Saint-Germain have qualified for the semi-finals of the League Cup in France without a strain and much glimmer. Goals from Neymar and Rabio were enough to seal the win for Emery’s men, who have won the competition four consecutive times in the last four years.
The Parisians played the game with a man more on the pitch since the 34th minute when Amiens goal keeper Regis Gurtner was sent off with a direct red card for a rough tackle against Kylian Mbappé outside of the box. The shotstopper recklessly threw himself into Mbappé, who required a lengthy medical assistance on the pitch. However, the youngster calmed everyone as he kept on playing and the fears of serious injury went away.
PSG opened the score through Neymar’s penalty in the 53rd minute, while in the 78th Adrienne Rabio doubled the lead of Emery’s side. Even though the goal was rather obvious, the referee did not point towards the centre due to a malfunction in the goal line technology, which led to the officials not being notified that the ball was behind the line. However, after watching a video replay of the situation the referee allowed the goal.
