Claude Puel, the Leicester City coach, spoke about a possible move of Harry Maguire as Manchester City have been heavily interested in getting him – but the coach is not concerned about that.
The Frenchman thinks that it is a good thing that a couple of great clubs are interested in getting Maguire – it shows that he has performed really well but the club is not forced to sell him so the coach expects him to stay. The Englishman joined Leicester this summer from Hull City and he has been doing extremely well since then, also making it into the national team.
The former Southampton coach spoke about his crucial player as he said, according to Sky Sports: “I think it is a good thing to have some players like that with speculation in the transfer window. This shows we have a good player. That is a good thing. It is a young player signed only this season for us. He has improved and he continues his hard work in the training sessions. He needs to continue this work with us.”
He also continued by adding that some of the players will probably leave to gain more playing time: “We will see for some players if they need or want more game time. I think it is important to get a good balance in the squad. It is a question of respect and to keep them with a good attitude and with good ambition in the squad.”
In the end, Claude Puel claimed that he is not worried about Iheanacho who joined his side in summer and has failed to make an impact so far: “Iheanacho is a young player, he signed this season with us and we have to develop him and I hope he can have more game time in the second part of the season.”
