Christian Pulisic, the Borussia Dortmund star youngster, spoke about his childhood idol LeBron James and he also insisted that he is still very inspirational to him as he has been always very interested in basketball.
The United States international admitted that he still likes basketball and he used to play that before he decided to switch to football – and when he used to live in his home Pensylvania, he used to watch the NBA a lot. And when asked about his biggest idol, he was certain that it has to be LeBron James as his attitude has always served as an example for him.
The BVB youngster spoke about LeBron as he said, according to ESPN: “LeBron James has always been a big inspiration of mine. I’m a big fan — I just love to watch him and I obviously support wherever he is. I also like my hometown team, the [Philadelphia] 76ers. I like to follow a lot of different teams and different players — I just really like the sport.”
He continued by adding that he used to play basketball himself: “I played one year of competitive basketball actually. I don’t remember what grade I was in, maybe middle school or something. I was always the smallest one but I did my best. I thought I did pretty good but I was always a little bit better at soccer so I had to make the decision.”
In the end, Christian Pulisic insisted that this sport is probably his biggest passion and he still loves it: “[Basketball] is definitely one of my biggest passions. I played every day after school with all my friends from high school in Pennsylvania. They weren’t really soccer players so we would play basketball all the time. I still love the sport — it’s just something I’ve always loved to do.”
