Simeone not worried about Griezmann’s future

Diego Simeone, the Atletico Madrid coach, spoke about his Antoine Griezmann and his way of spending his spare time as he travels outside Spain and it only fuels the transfer rumours.

Simeone insisted that he can see that Griezmann’s commitment is still the same as it used to be so he has no reason to be concerned about his future at the club despite making these suspicious travels. The Frenchman has been linked mostly with Manchester United but the transfer wasn’t done in the summer and it doesn’t seem likely to happen even now…

The former Inter Milan midfielder spoke about his key player as he said, according to Goal“I think he will be okay and rested.  Tomorrow [Saturday] he will be full of energy and strength, ready to help his team-mates achieve the goals that the club expect, that’s the most important thing. After that, they have their own things to deal with, but if they respect [the club] and are responsible with the team, I have nothing to say about what they do or don’t do.”

He continued by adding that Sevilla will be a difficult opponent for his team in their upcoming match in the Copa del Rey as they are about to face them in the first leg on Wednesday: “They’re an important rival. They like the Copa del Rey, they have great players and just changed the coach for a new one [Montella] that has good experience managing the team after his past at Roma, Fiorentina and Milan, regardless the way he left his last club.”

In the end, Diego Simeone claimed that Montella has got very good players in his squad and it depends on him how he will use them: “He has great players. It’s an important matchup for the quarter-finals the fans will enjoy it.”
