Borussia Dortmund’s Marco Reus is out of the 26-players squad, which will be facing Spain in Dusseldorf on 23 and Brazil in Berlin on 27 March.
The 28-years-old player has been waiting for the international team call for almost two years and now seemed the perfect moment for it as he returned from a break due to injury. However, he will miss the two games in order for him to have the chance to fully recover.
“With Marco, it’s important to be cautious and make sure we don’t put any unnecessary pressure on him,” Löw shared, according to the official site of the Bundesliga. “Above all, he needs to be playing regularly without any pain, so he can get into a rhythm.”
His Dortmund teammate Mario Gotze will miss out the two games as well, despite the fact that he was the one to score the winning goal in the 2014 World Cup against Argentina.
