Fernando Torres is reportedly on the verge of completing a move to the Major League Soccer in the United States for next season, claims Marca
The former Spain international, who had recently announced that he will be leaving Atletico Madrid at the end of the season for the second and final time, has reportedly gathered interest from clubs in the MLS.
It has been reported that Torres is favouring a move west rather than east and has not yet received any offers from clubs in Spain.
Marca has reported that there are five clubs in the MLS that are believed to be in the running to secure Torres’ services for next season, which include: Montreal Impact, Chicago Fire, Seattle Sounders, New York City FC and Sporting Kansas City.
The Spanish publications states that Chicago Fire, whose coach Veljko Paunovic used to alongside Torres at Atletico in 2003, and New York City, who have the Spaniard’s friend and former teammate David Villa in their ranks, are the favourites to land the former Liverpool star.
