Gareth Southgate has named his final 23-man squad for England in this summer’s World Cup with the surprise inclusion of both Trent Alexander-Arnold and Ruben Loftus-Cheek, reports Sky Sports
Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope has also made the cut for the Three Lions with Joe Hart officially out of the team for Russia.
The uncapped Alexander-Arnold, who will likely start for Liverpool in their Champions League final against Real Madrid in 10 days time, and Chelsea’s Loftus Cheek, who has just two appearances for England to his name, form part of a young group named by Southgate.
Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere and Liverpool’s Adam Lallana have also been excluded from the final squad, but Chelsea captain Gary Cahill has been recalled for Russia.
