Philippe Coutinho was very close to moving to Barcelona this summer transfer window but in the end, he stayed at Liverpool and he said that he is happy to be given a chance to play in the Premier League.

There was a huge number of rumours saying that Coutinho made an official transfer request to be given a chance to move to Barcelona but Liverpool decided not to allow him to do so. The Brazil international insisted that he is happy to be in England and he is enjoying playing for the Reds as he can perform at the highest level.

The former Inter Milan player spoke about his current feeling as he said, according to Sky Sports: “I’m playing in one of the biggest leagues in the world,” said Coutinho, who is currently on international duty with Brazil ahead of the friendly against England at Wembley on Tuesday. I’m always happy. But now it’s important to concentrate on the national team. At the moment I am very happy with my life.”

He has been injured for a while but he said that he will be back for the match against England: “I’m 100% fit. I had an injury and I missed three matches but now I’m coming back and I’m 100% ready for this match. Wearing the yellow shirt is always a real honour. It will be an honour to play in this game. We’re expecting to put on a great show in this match.”

Coutinho also talked about the inexperienced England squad: “They haven’t been picked because they’re young, they deserve their places. They will be really motivated. They will give their best. They have some great players. It will be a great game. It’s a great challenge to play against England and this game is great preparation for the World Cup.”
