The Germany international takes nothing for granted and insists the Citizens have not accomplished anything yet.

Manchester City forward İlkay Gündoğan insisted his side is yet to secure anything this year, which means they should not relax even for a moment. Guardiola’s men have been tremendous since the start of the season and are currently on a streak of 14 consecutive domestic wins, 11 points clear on top of the league.

Their latest feature was a 1-2 win over Manchester United at Old Trafford, after which Mourinho insisted that the title race is probably over and the Citizens are way too far ahead for anybody to catch up with.

However, Gündoğan remains firm on the ground and insists that his team still has a lot of work to do.

“We haven’t won anything yet,” Gündoğan stated, according to Goal. “We are not even halfway through the season. There are a lot more games to play and a lot more points to earn.

“We’re just enjoying it at the moment — enjoying it probably more than 19 other teams in the league. It feels good right now.

“We know that we are in a good way and that up to today, we’ve played a very good season in all competitions — not just the league — so we feel confident for the next weeks, months and the next games. Not more and not less.

“There are a lot more tasks waiting for us, especially I think in December because of all the games. Obviously, it’s the same for every team but it’s tough, it’s hard and it’s challenging, so we’ll focus on the next game.”
