Florentino Perez has not given up at the idea of bringing Dele Alli to Santiago Bernabeu.

According to Don Balon, Real Madrid’s president is preparing a January bid for Tottenham’s central midfielder and is ready to include a player in the deal, in order to lower the transfer fee demands of Daniel Levy. Florentino Perez is ready to offer €70m plus Mateo Kovacic to Tottenham, in the hope he will be able to persuade Spurs to let their star player go.

Mateo Kovacic was bought by Real Madrid in 2015, from Inter for €35m. But the Croatian midfielder never really established himseld as a first team player at Santiago Bernabeu. The 23-year-old is seen as a squad rotation player by his manager, Zinedine Zidane, and the Frenchman would much rather have a player of Dele Alli’s caliber at his disposal. This season, Kovacic only played three matches for Real Madrid.

Dele Alli arrived at Tottenham in 2015, from MK Dons, for only €7m, but his market value sky-rocketed in the last years. According to Transfermarkt, the Englishman now has a market value of €60m, but Tottenham are looking to get more than €100m for their player.

Last Premier League season, Dele Alli scored 18 goals for Tottenham in 37 matches. In the current season, he only scored three goals in 17 matches, as Spurs are going through a rough period.
