Unai Emery, the PSG manager, spoke about the speculations made up by the Spanish media saying that Neymar is about to join Real Madrid and he insisted that the only purpose is to destabilise the club.

PSG managed to bring Neymar for a record fee this summer from Barcelona and they made him the most expensive player in the history – but the Spanish media have been trying to destabilise the club because of that. Emery believes that it has something to do with the fact that PSG are about to face Real Madrid in the first round of the Champions League knockout stage.

The former Sevilla coach spoke about this situation as he said, according to ESPN“The squad is strong and concentrated on our next matches and the most important upcoming encounters, such as our trip to Madrid to face Real in the Champions League. The club is experienced and I have experience in this too. People can try to destabilise us from the outside. Look — a leading sports newspaper [Marca] is sending Neymar to Real again. This has not disturbed us, though. We know who wants to destabilise us but we are protecting ourselves. We will find some normality.”

He continued by adding that the communication with the owner is very important for him: “We speak together often, the president [Al-Khelaifi], Antero, the players and I. Communication is important at a club like PSG. This is a club that is growing a lot and generates a lot of outside interest and curiosity. We work together here.”

In the end, Unai Emery claimed that he wants to win the upcoming match against Nantes no matter what: “I want to win the match in Nantes with players who are ready to play. I am looking only at the present and you already know my opinion on Javier, I have told you many times in the past. After that, everything concerning the transfer window is Antero’s business.”
