during the Premier League match between Crystal Palace and Manchester United at Selhurst Park on December 14, 2016 in London, England.

Alan Pardew, the West Bromwich Albion head coach, admitted that his team will have to start selling players first to gain enough money for the new ones – however, he knows that he has to strengthen his squad somehow…

West Brom managed to win for the first time with Pardew in charge as Jonny Evans and Craig Dawson managed to find the net in a 2-0 win over Brighton away from home – but even after this win, Pardew insisted that he wants to bring some new players to boost his squad. To be said, he also added that he will need to sell a player or two to get the finances needed for that.

The former Newcastle United coach spoke about this transfer window as he said, according to Sky Sports“I’d like to bring in a few fresh faces. I’ve got no money to spend so it means I’ve got to move somebody. We’ll have to wait and see what happens because we’ll have to move somebody out if there’s a bid.”

He continued by praising his attacking players as he said that their contribution was great: “But this is a good start for us in terms of our offensive players. Jay [Rodriguez] and Salomon [Rondon] in particular were a real handful. It was a really good professional display and if we didn’t suffer that late goal at West Ham we would have said momentum has changed.”

In the end, Alan Pardew claimed that he has to be happy with the overall performance: “We conceded possession and we’re very good in terms of stopping them playing. I thought they played very well, Brighton, so this is a good performance for us. It wasn’t like they came in and didn’t play well. They were really at it today and we were just the better side.”
