It was a huge loss for Manchester City as they were beaten for the first time in this year’s Premier League by Liverpool and after this 4-3 crazy loss, Ilkay Gündogan insisted that they have to stay positive and learn from that unsuccessful attempt.

The Germany international scored one goal as he made it 4-3 in the dying minutes but in the end, it wasn’t enough to fight for the equalizer – and Guardiola’s team were beaten for the first time in the domestic competition this season. But the midfielder is certain that they will bounce back and they will start with another winning run…

The former BVB player spoke about this unlucky match as he said, according to Sky Sports“It is in our own hands. There is a gap, quite a comfortable gap still, but there are still a lot of games to play.  We need to learn now, especially from those 10 minutes when we were not fully there. I am quite sure that we will and then we are going to bounce back and find again, 100 percent, our way. I am sure that it is then nearly impossible to stop us.”

He continued by adding that they were also a bit unlucky: “We had two situations with Sergio at the end but unfortunately that was not enough. Our first defeat of the season – we need to accept that, even though it’s not easy. But we will look forward and we will now focus on the next game [at home to Newcastle on Saturday]. We have nearly one week to prepare for it. It continues and we won’t stop.”

In the end, Ilkay Gündogan claimed that Guardiola prepared his players for that moment: “He [Guardiola] always said the day would come where we lose a game. Obviously, everyone is disappointed because we don’t think we deserved it. It feels kind of weird but the day has come and it is something we need to accept.”
