Atletico Madrid captain Gabi is confident that they will be able to handle themselves well against Marseille in tonight’s Europa League final

Los Rojiblancos are currently aiming to equal Sevilla’s record as the only club to win three Europa League crowns tonight.

The final in Lyon’s Groupama Stadium will be their fourth in Europe over the past eight years and Gabi feels that the squad has grown together in this time and that Atletico is now a side capable of mentally handling any challenges that are posed to them.

“Our characteristics are stability and consistency and we are among those side’s who know how best to suffer throughout a game, “ said the 34-year-old, according to Football-Espana.

“We’ve already shown in finals and important games that this is our strength. We’ve spent around seven years working in a similar fashion, which has brought great results and has been created by our Coach.

“Previously unknown players have now become famous and we have all grown alongside the club. Our way of working has become a reference point for many in Europe and we hope to continue at this level for a long time.”
