Egypt manager Hector Cuper has refused to name his line-up for their opening game against Uruguay on Friday after admitting that he has already decided amid the uncertainty surrounding Mohamed Salah’s fitness

The Liverpool forward was forced off with a shoulder injury in last month’s Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid after colliding with Sergio Ramos.

After missing training over the weekend, Salah returned to full training with his teammates on Wednesday for their final session at Grozny, Chechnya.

The Pharaohs will now travel to Yekaterinburg ahead of their World Cup opener against Uruguay.

While confirming that he does indeed know who he will be starting, Couper refused to divulge who exactly is in his plans for Friday and instead chose to express his confidence about how his players will be able to handle the threat of Uruguay attacking duo Luis Suarez and Edinson Cavani.

“The Uruguay national team have a strong attacking line-up in Luis Suarez and Edinson Cavani,” said Cuper, as quoted by King Fut.

“But our players have the desire and enthusiasm to play an excellent match,” he concluded.

Russia and Saudi Arabia will face each other in the other fixture in Group A today.
