Liverpool have reportedly initiated negotiations with Stoke City over a possible deal to sign Xherdan Shaqiri this summer, claims The Telegraph
The Switzerland international is keen to leave the Potters this summer after they were relegated from the Premier League last season.
In light of this, Liverpool have emerged as the favourites to sign him and have reportedly begun talks with Stoke to trigger the 26-year-old’s release clause, which is believed to be worth over £13m.
While the precise details regarding Shaqiri’s release clause remain unknown, it is understood that Liverpool are pursuing him at a cut-price with Jurgen Klopp keen to sign him after making him one of his top transfer targets for the summer.
Shaqiri was initially linked with a move to Liverpool, prior to joining Stoke in 2015 from Serie A side Inter Milan, and could now become their third signing of the summer after Fabinho and Naby Keita.
