FIFA president Gianni Infantino has hailed the quality of football and organization at the World Cup so far while also calling this World Cup as the greatest one ever.

Infantino has also given host country Russia a thumbs up as the tournament draws to a close.

The FIFA supremo believes it has been a memorable event after the world has witnessed 62 games of great quality with just the third-place playoff and Final left to play.

“Today I can say with more conviction that this the best World Cup ever, I’ve been saying it to people who would care to listen before now that the World Cup in Russia would be the best we’ve seen. I would like to thank everyone involved from the organizers, to the Russian citizens and fans who came from all over the World.” Infantino told reporters on Friday via Sky Sports.

“To the president of Russia, Vladimir Putin, the Russian Football Federation and the volunteers who have helped make this tournament a memorable one, I say a big thank you.”

Gianni Infantino believes the World Cup has the perception of the rest of the World towards Russia and believes the world have seen how welcoming Russia can be.

The World Cup comes to an end on Sunday when France face Croatia to determine who’ll be crowned champions of the World.
