We take you through the Top 5 best transfers to the Spanish La Liga so far, we can’t forget that the window for every other European league closes on August 31.

The Spanish La Liga still has 22 days left in the summer transfer window, which closes on August 31st for the rest of Europe and still has the best transfers to come. But for now we will tell you which deals have been made this far counting that the Premier League window closed this Thursday, there are some very interesting players who just arrived in Spain from England and will elevate La Liga’s level of competition. Take a look at the Top 5 Best Transfers to La Liga that have been completed so far this summer, you be the judge of the best deals that have taken place at this point.

1.- Thomas Lemar from AS Monaco to Atletico Madrid.

The French World Cup champion is without question the most exciting transfer in La Liga so far, he came to Atletico Madrid from AS Monaco for €60 million and promises to become one of the best players in the competition. Lemar was already in the radar of some of the best clubs in European football, but the idea of playing under legendary coach Diego Simeone and his teammate Antoine Griezmann was too good of an offer for Thomas to pass. Even if Real Madrid ends up buying a world-class star like Eden Hazard, Lemar’s arrival to the Colchoneros can still be considered one of the best deals in the Spanish La Liga transfer market this summer due to the price they paid AS Monaco for his services.

2.- Thibaut Courtois from Chelsea FC to Real Madrid.

Fresh out of the oven after many days of negotiations, Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois was the chosen one by Florentino Perez to reinforce Real Madrid’s position that already seemed well-covered by Keylor Navas. However, in the president’s eyes, there is always room to improve the squad’s internal competition and Courtois arrives as the best example of this notion. ‘Tibu’ arrives for a moderate €39 million deal from Chelsea, he was just presented this Thursday and has already kissed the Real Madrid sigil to the dismay of all the Atletico Madrid fans who surely hate him at this point. We can’t wait to see the kind of welcome he receives during his next visit to the Wanda Metropolitano stadium.

3.- Arturo Vidal from Bayern Munchen to FC Barcelona.

Out of all the transfer made in La Liga this far, perhaps the most confusing is Arturo Vidal’s arrival from FC Bayern Munchen due to the striking contradiction that Chilean midfielder’s style of play represents to Barcelona’s philosophy. King Arturo is one of the best box-to-box midfielders in the world right now but his defensive skills stand out more than his passing abilities or creative chops, he will still be considered a great addition to the Catalan club where he is already training alongside the likes of Leo Messi or Luis Suarez and he looks quite happy. One of the problems that Vidal’s arrival represents for Barcelona, is that at 31 years old, this midfielder just came out of a long recovery process after a serious knee injury. It’s uncertain if Arturo will return to his best form after suffering an injury as nasty as this one.

4.- Geoffrey Kondogbia from Inter to Valencia CF.

We know that the French midfielder already played one season for Valencia, but the Spanish club had him on loan and was still not sure if they were going to buy him on a permanent deal. However, Kondogbia proved that he is one of the best bargains Valencia has landed in the last couple of seasons and letting him go back to Inter Milan would’ve been a tremendous mistake. The clause for his services was not even that expensive, Valencia paid €25 million and they did it with a smile on their face because they know he is worth a lot more than that. The Italian club actually wanted the player back, but Valencia had the preference to buy him after the loan which was stipulated on the contract.

5.- Gelson Martins from Sporting Clube to Atletico Madrid.

Another one of the most exciting products that the legendary Sporting Clube winger factory has to offer, Diego Simeone was quick to act on this Portuguese relatively unknown football player and he may just have signed one of the best in his position. Gelson puts together all the trademark attributes that the Sporting football school teaches their young players, he is the latest in a long line of players who excel in that position that include names such as Luis Figo, Luis Nani, and Cristiano Ronaldo just to name a few. Gelson’s arrival was a much-needed deal that Atletico was looking forward to making after Yannick Carrasco’s exit from the club, with this new transfer the Atletico fans can rest easy because they now have a world-class dribbler in their ranks.
