Crystal Palace confirmed that Christian Benteke has undergone a minor arthroscopic operation on his knee
The Belgian striker last featured for Palace in their 2-0 defeat to Southampton at the start of last month.
Now Palace have announced that Benteke, who has struggled to hit top form at Selhurst Park, will be on the sidelines for a while longer.
“Christian Benteke has undergone minor arthroscopic explorative surgery and washout of his knee, as it had not been settling with conservative management,” read a statement on the club website.
“The surgeon was happy with the outcome and we expect Christian to return to training very soon. A further update will be given in a few weeks’ time.”
After Palace announced the news, Benteke took to social media to express his optimism of the surgery.
“After discussions with the medical staff, it was decided minor arthroscopy would be the best way to get me back on the pitch at 100%. All has gone well,” Benteke wrote on Twitter.
“Now to concentrate on getting back to full health as soon as possible!”
Benteke is yet to find the net for Palace this season after four games.
