Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang teased that he’s still not at 100% peak performance, despite a stunning start to the season

The Gabon international’s brace in Arsenal’s 4-2 derby win over Tottenham on Sunday made him the sole leader of the Premier League scoring charts with 10 goals.

However, Aubameyang reckons there is still more left in the tank from him.

“It’s early in the season and I know that we have good strikers in this league,” Aubameyang told Arsenal.com.

“It will be tough, but I am happy that we won against Tottenham. I think the most important thing, as I always say, is the team.

“I think I’m not at my 100 per cent, but it is coming. It’s coming. Against Tottenham, I felt very good on the pitch and I am really happy. But my best form is coming.

“It’s the best league in the world so it’s a great challenge for me. Of course I prefer playing centrally, but I know that I am can help the team and sometimes the coach puts me on the left side. But as I said, it’s my favourite position, so on Sunday it was good.”

Since his club record arrival of £56m from Borussia Dortmund in January, Aubameyang has scored 22 goals in 32 games for Arsenal.

The Gunners will next face Manchester United away at Old Trafford on Wednesday night.
