Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic has made a surprising admission about the team following their draw against Arsenal on Wednesday.

Matic insists the United squad is currently low on confidence as they go through a poor season so far.

Jose Mourinho’s United came back from a goal down on two separate occasions to earn a 2-2 draw with Arsenal at Old Trafford.

“Both teams attacked,” said Matic, according to Mirror Football.

“It was a great game for the supporters but I thought we deserved a point.”

“Everyone knows the confidence is not high, but this is the fight that we have to show. Everyone is ready to play wherever the manager asks.”

Meanwhile, United defender Chris Smalling said the players are well aware of their problems.

“All of us know we are in a tough path of form and everyone is giving everything to help us through,” he said.

“Everyone is digging in. We were on the front foot and pressing them because we know they like to play and I thought we were unlucky not to get the third goal.”
