The agent of Napoli defender Elsed Hysaj has suggested that the player could potentially secure a move to Chelsea when the transfer window reopens in January.
Former Napoli manager Maurizio Sarri, who left the Italian club to become the new manager of Chelsea in the summer, and the former Empoli boss allegedly wanted the right-back to follow him to the Premier League.
Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis blocked the transfer of Hysaj before the England transfer window closed on August 9, but football agent Mario Guiffredi has indicated that the Albania international may not finish the season with the Partenopei.
Guiffredi told Radio Crc, as quoted by Sports Mole:
“I can’t rule out resuming negotiations with Chelsea in January. We know there was contact in the summer because Sarri wanted him, and we also know that [Davide Zappacosta} is not to the liking of the coach.”
A report in the Italian press this week suggested that Chelsea may consider a swap deal involving Denmark international Andreas Christensen, with current right-back and vice-captain capable of filling in at central defence.
